Danica Dakić “Passing by: Madame X”

The idea of this work is the transformation of public space/passageway into a theatrical space, a space of encounter. A transparent projection screen, on which a video picture is projected, blocks the walkway between the old town (Baščaršija) and the Ćulhan. The scene: A close-up of woman’s mouth speaks soundlessly. A rhythm is created by pausing and running image. The still and moving images change slowly. With this, the element of time is accentuated as an important part of the work.
