New Monument – Nebojša Šerić Šoba

The work by Nebojša Šerić-Šoba “Monument to the International Community” is a reaction to a social, as well as artistic connotation in the cultural and social space of Sarajevo that provides for a multi-layered reading. The work expresses/reflects the atmosphere in BiH and perfectly corresponds with the international art community. This is a work with a specific artistic expression, continuing a Warholian pop-art tradition. It is firmly situated in the pop art and soc-art context. Its semantic consistency must be emphasized; the work’s message is read equally well “from within” and “from without”.
