August 18 – September 02, 2007

Exhibition of Lala Raščić “Everything is connected”, the 2006 ZVONO Award Winner.

The exhibition entitled “Sve je povezano / Everything is connected” features Raščić’s work made in the period 2005 -2007. The selected works clearly outline the author’s artistic development and the constancy in her artistic practices and interests. Beside the older works form 2005-6, Lala is introducing a new work (made in 2007), the video installation entitled “Everything is Connected”, by which the entire show is named.

While Raščić’s main form of expression remains video art, the individual projects were developed through a series of artifacts, installations, drawings that are all to be featured in the show.

The exhibition is comprised of the following works: “Everything is Connected” – 5 channel video installation; “The Invisibles” – single channel video and drawing installation; “Sorry, Wrong Number “- single channel video installation, drawings and objects installed at the space of the gallery.

Raščić’s works has strong references to the genre of audio drama, drawing esthetic references from old-time-radio and film noir. Nevertheless, her works always retain a strong link to the present, often dealing with important social issues through a prism of soft satire and eclectic visuals.

“We do not need to belong, we can live in fiction, and we may get lost never to find ourselves again. These are the connections I make with my art; this is why I make art in the first place.”  (Lala Raščić)
