“Women Beyond Borders”- international traveling exhibition
“Women Beyond Borders” is unique multicultural, international art project. Initial goal is to link women artists from around the world and show how to build community trough dialogue and collaboration. The organizers of WBB proposed miniature wooden boxes to be used as the starting point for all women artists participating in the project. The artists, in keeping with their individual way of shaping art, transformed these boxes into their own unique artistic creations. The artists were selected through recommendations from museum and gallery curators and art critics from the individual countries.WBB initiators contacted curators in 30 countries who each invited up to 12 women artists to participate.
The exhibition in Zagreb features 12 women artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia, selected by Dunja Blažević, Director of SCCA, Sarajevo; Nada Beroš, curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb and coordinator of this project, and Barbara Borčić, Director of the SCCA, Ljubljana.
Selected women artists from BiH: Anela Šabić, Alma Suljević and Suzana Cerić.
This virtual and actual exhibition ran only for two hours, at the newly opened vegetarian restaurant ‘Melong’ in Zagreb, during which time guests were able to see the works of the artists.
Participation organized with the assistance of the SCCA-Sarajevo.
