“Borders 2001” – international exhibition

Project BORDERS 2001 is focused on the role of contemporary arts in specific urban context.

The main topic (or keyword) of the exhibition is SUSPENSE, a state or condition of mental uncertainty or excitement, as in awaiting a decision or outcome, usually accompanied by a degree of apprehension or anxity. For this project it is used to describe the situation of permanet instability so common for post-traumatic and transition societies.

The whole project consists of several compatibile parts: video program, discussions, workshop and exhibition. All those elements are part of “the world of art” which have important role in contemporary culture as tools for social changes.

Participating artists from BiH: Alma Suljević and Gordana Anđelić-Galić

Selected by Lejla Hodžić (SCCA)

BORDERS 2001 was made possible with the financial support from KulturKontakt Austria and the City of Slavonski Brod.
